National crafts: traditions continue
Ancient traditions and schools of national crafts have been revived
and are being developed along with other spheres in Uzbekistan.
A special attention under the leadership of President Islam Karimov
is given to support and stimulation of work of craftsmen, which
contributes to development of folk art traditions.
Margilan silk, Khiva carpets, embroideries of Nurota, Bukharas gold
embroidery products are famous in the world. Products made by Uzbek
craftsmen are exhibited in many museums and international exhibitions,
which confirms the identity and richness of Uzbek national traditions
and the creative potential of the Uzbek people.
